RESEARCH NOTE · 002OBSERVATION

Liquidity Sweeps into Fair Value Gaps

Tracking sweep → displacement → FVG sequences around session highs and lows.

XAU/USD

The observation

Session highs and lows keep getting swept before the real move. Watching whether those sweeps produce displacement into fair value gaps during the London and New York killzones — and what happens when they don’t.

What I’m testing

  • Mark the liquidity pool (session high/low, equal highs/lows) before the killzone opens.
  • Note sweep vs. no-sweep, then displacement vs. chop.
  • If displacement: where does the FVG form, and does price return to it?
  • Counterexamples matter as much as confirmations — log the failures too.
